Cocoon Swaddle 3.5 | Willow | Ergopouch
The 3.5 TOG Cocoon Swaddle Bag is a zip-up swaddle, used to sleep a baby in, from birth. TOG rated for warmth, the Cocoon Swaddle Bag keeps a baby safe and securely swaddled without the need for complicated wrapping. Being TOG-rated ensures the 3.5 TOG is insulated enough to use in room temperatures between 14-19°C (57-66°F) with no blankets required in the bassinet or cot, making this a safe sleep option for a newborn or baby. The chest area is 1.0 TOG rated to prevent overheating and allow for full chest expansion when breathing.
Parents can layer up underneath as needed for warmth, and follow our handy FREE room thermometer and what to wear guide included with the product to help them dress their child appropriately. We recommend pairing this with one of our TOG-rated Layers or Bodywear underneath (sold separately).
The Cocoon Swaddle Bag features arm poppers at the shoulders, to transition the Cocoon from an arms-in swaddle to arms-out sleeping bag when baby is showing signs of rolling. A zip enclosure protects your child's delicate skin, and the soft, breathable natural fibres are certified non-toxic, dyed with water based dyes, and gentle on newborn skin, and skin prone to eczema breakouts. The swaddle is made from and filled with GOTS certified organic cotton, with elastane in the outer fabric and bamboo in the lining. This means it's firm enough to restrict startle reflex whilst still allowing stretch and movement for healthy growth. The stretch allows for added comfort, and for a baby to move its hands into a self-settling position inside the swaddle. The bell shaped design is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as being hip-healthy, and promotes proper joint development in the hips and shoulders joints. Finally, the two-way zipper makes for quick and easy nappy changes during sleep with minimal disruptions.
There are three ways to sleep your baby with the Cocoon Swaddle Bag:
1. Use as a zip-up swaddle by ensuring the arm-poppers are closed. Suitable from birth-rolling. 2. Use with a Butterfly Cardi (sold separately) to create a hands-up sleeping position for babies that prefer this style of sleeping. Suitable from birth - rolling. 3. Use as an arms-out swaddle by opening the arm-poppers and releasing the arms. Suitable from birth - 12 months.
